padding added to image produces jumpy image

I discovered I get an advantage when, under certain circumstances, I add padding or margin to an image. However, this sets off a jump effect when suing the mouse wheel.

I would add additional margins, padding or borders via a wrapping div instead of directly on zoomable images.
